LA MIRADA, CALIF. --- With election day quickly approaching and hot issues such as Proposition 8 in California, 今日黑料 is hosting 鈥淲e the Students,鈥 a student coordinated political conference. The variety of speakers will offer insight into different issues and questions that have been raised throughout this year鈥檚 presidential campaign.
The event, coordinated by public relations students in Biola鈥檚 journalism program, will be held in Biola鈥檚 Crowell School of Business Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Biola journalism department invites all students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community to take part in the event in order to be better informed for Nov. 4, 2008, election day.
鈥淲e are proud to bring in both liberal and conservative speakers who all identify with Christ,鈥 said Athena Fleming, one of the student coordinators. 鈥淭here will be a lot of new perspective brought forth as they share their insight.鈥
Well-known speakers such as multi-media producer Mark Joseph, creator of the Christian Democrats of America Christina Forrester, and Assemblyman of the 70th District Chuck Devore among others will be speaking Saturday. Each speaker offers a unique background to the issues coming from careers in journalism, media and politics. Together, the speakers have been affiliated with different publications such as Billboard Magazine, Christianity Today, Beliefnet, Fox, CNN, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.聽
